Another Update on Tylenol,Motrin, Zyrtec Recall (7/15/10)

The McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of Johnson & Johnson (scary how much conglomerates like Johnson & Johnson own–isn't it?!) just announced that they will be laying off about 300 employees at their Fort Washington, Pennsylvania factory as a result of all of the quality overhaul that is taking place.

I'm assuming that this is supposed to make customers feel better…but it doesn't really make me feel better–does it work for you?  Now, on top of being worried about the quality of children's products, I also feel terrible about all those people who now have no jobs.  How many of them are actually high up enough on the totem pole of Johnson & Johnson to suffer for this fiasco?

Why Can’t My Preschool Apply Sunscreen?!

**Note: I have changed the title of this post from "My Preschool Won't Apply Sunscreen!" to "Why Can't My Preschool Apply Sunscreen?!" because the original title was taking away from my original intent which was to rail against the craziness that parents (and schools!) now have to deal with legal mumbo jumbo for simple things like preventing a child's sunburn.  It was never my intention to shine a spotlight on my particular preschool or to insinuate that the staff there is doing anything less than their best efforts to keep their students safe.  While I understand the need for stringent regulations such as these, I still absolutely hate the need for them.   It truly makes my head spin…**
