Personalized Jumbo Piggy Bank (Giveaway!)

Buying presents for parents of new babies is tough…and if the family is having their second, third, fourth etc child the task becomes even tougher.

The family probably has all the baby gear that they need, and a certain amount of clothes can be handed down from child to child.  There was a trend for a while to give personalized step-stools and rocking chairs, but, for those of us who are apartment dwellers with limited space, that was definitely a trend to be bucked.

That said, it’s sometimes nice for a child (particularly one who isn’t the first born) to have some things with their name on them…as opposed to all the bibs that they will be wearing with their older sibling’s monogram.

Is your house or apartment as safe as it could or should be?

Are you doing all that you can to avoid fire and other hazards? I know that I, for one, know all of the things about which I am supposed to be careful…but sometimes life gets in the way and I am careless.

I am constantly leaving things plugged in and walking away, leaving cords strewn all over the place so that I trip over them later.  This is a problem in any season with my laptop, but now that it is cold and Flu season, I anticipate trouble with humidifier wires….plugs and spilling water are a definite no-no!  I am also guilty of lighting my Shabbat candles and either going to sleep or leaving the house, probably a big safety no-no. I am even guilty of wacking my smoke detector with a broom handle to make it stop beeping after I burn something…(admit it, you’ve done that!)

Beyond Coastal Sun Care (Review and Giveaway)

It seems that I am on the go and running after my kids all summer long. Since we are in NYC, being outside (except for the occasional day trip) means lots and lots of time in various playgrounds around the city.

I run after my kids in the grass, on concrete and asphalt, catch them at the bottom of slides, push them on swings and chase them through sprinklers.

One thing (among many 😉 that terrifies me is sunburn. I am always looking for a great sunscreen for my family that will protect all of us and keep us safe. It’s pretty scary that, of late, there have been warnings against so many of the ingredients in the sunscreens that we usually buy. I was happy to get the chance to try out Beyond Coastal ‘s sun care line because it is on the EWG‘s list of approved sunscreens.
