Why, oh why, am I always running out of something?
I can stock my kitchen and my medicine cabinets until they are overflowing, but the one thing that I really need always seems to be just finished. Story of a mom’s life, I guess.
I am running out to so many different stores so often that my wallet is veritably bulging with rewards cards….finding the right one is never easy when I’m juggling a kid or two, a stroller, a purse and/or a cellphone.
I was SO excited to hear that Walgreens is not only launching a new Rewards program, Balance Rewards, but that you can access the entire tbing on a smartphone app. Brilliant.
While it would make sense for me to make lists before I shop (and might fix the problem of running out of things), it’s just not the way I work. I like to scroll through a site or stroll through a store and remind myself what I need.
I was really impressed with how easy it was so sign up for the Walgreens Loyalty Rewards program (had I had an existing Walgreens account, I could’ve just used that). Just put your info in and you’re good to go! And, in this case, the Early Bird really does catch the worm: if you sign up before September 16th for Walgreen’s Balance Rewards you are entered to win 1 Million Loyalty points. That’s a lot of diapers and glue sticks 🙂
I very much enjoyed the search feature of the app and was impressed with how many products were listed…I was a little bit disappointed to discover that many of the art and school supplies that interested me were listed as available “In Store Only”. Once I realized that I couldn’t get all of the fun art kits that I wanted straight from the app, I decided not to bother with them. I don’t think Walgreens would be happy to know that the app saved me from a whole lot of impulse buying 😉
I was happy to find the map tool which helped me find my own neighborhood Walgreens, in case I am inspired to go buy art supplies and rack up some more points anyway 🙂
If you want to see they rest of my fun shopping ‘trip” through the app, you can check out my Walgreens Shopportunity Google+ Album !
For even more information, you can stop by the Walgreen’s Facebook page or follow them on twitter.

It looks like a great app. I didn’t know about it. I love my Wallgreen’s Prescription card and will use it the next time I am in the store. Thanks for sharing.
This app was so easy to use–I’m excited to use it next time!

So excited about this app and I love all the feature with it!
It really was very user-friendly. Why go into a store when you can just shop directly from your phone?!
