Change Up Your Look with Secret Extensions

Who wouldn’t like to change up her look every once in a while?

I have such a love-hate relationship with haircuts–I can never seem to fully and happily commit to one length!  And, honestly, extensions would have never occurred to me as an option.

I ran to this event after getting my kids in bed.  Ran, quite literally, showing up to the salon 15 minutes late for my appointment bedraggled and sweaty.  The stylists were getting ready to pack it up after the end of a long day catering to bloggers, so they had just a few minutes to give me.

A couple of minutes with a hair dryer (no wash), a quick pull-on of these funky extensions which are basically  a thin stretchy headband with hair attached, a brush-through and voila…

I visited Barbie’s Dreamhouse #barbieismoving

**Disclaimer: I received a special gift bag at the event.  I was not compensated in any other way.  All opinions are my own.**

I have never been a huge fan of Barbie. Even as a little girl, though I was plenty girly, something about Barbie’s blond, manicured faux-perfection didn’t speak to me. I had a token doll or two, but most of them suffered drastic hair cuts and strange homemade fashions before being relegated to the bottom of the toy box.

Fast forward to college and graduate school, where, before doing another couple of degrees in education I focused on feminist drama. I wrote a thesis on Eve Ensler and The Vagina Monologues, a girly guerrilla girl who is definitely not a Barbie Girl.

533 Bloggers and 1 Official Trailer for Delivery Man #deliverymanmovie

The notion of what it means to be a family is always growing and changing, as was evidenced by last week’s groundbreaking Supreme Court decision to declare DOMA unconstitutional. Families do come in all combinations, shapes and sizes…but what happens when one happy-go-lucky guy discovers that he has 533 biological children as a result of an anonymous sperm donation that he made 20 years prior?

In the movie Delivery Man, starring Vince Vaughn, one man is about to find out and be forced to make the decision whether or not to meet the 142 of his offspring who are interested in getting to know their biological dad.

As a tribute to the many kinds of families out there, 533 bloggers will be debuting the trailer for this movie at the very same moment.
