I am not really into convenience foods.  I am constantly making food for my family…generally always from scratch.  That doesn’t, however, mean that it isn’t nice to have a short cut every once in a while…particularly, when the shortcut involves fresh food with real ingredients instead of processed packages of unpronounceables.  Who knew that my neighborhood Duane Reade had so many such shortcuts in its refrigerator section?

I must have 3 million points cards cluttering up my wallet.  I have those mini ones that are supposed to go on your keychain…but they are stuffed in my wallet as well.

In fact, almost every time that I take out my wallet to buy something there is an avalanche of cards all over the checkout counter…

can you hear the barely audible sighs of the person standing behind me in line as I scramble to clean it all up??

A Well-Stocked Medicine Cabinet with UrgentRX #MyUrgentRX #cbias #socialfabric

I have always been known as someone who is prepared for everything. In elementary school, I constantly carried around a purse everywhere I went with staples such as bandages, lip balm and the like. As a mom, I have diaper bag (even though my kids are out of diapers) stocked with a first aid kit, allergy medicines for my allergic son, toys, snacks, wipes and all kinds of other crazy little items that might come in handy. When we travel, we need another suitcase just for all of the ‘just in case’ medical stuff that I bring along. And, of course, there are few things missing from my home medicine cabinets.

Snacks, Taylor Swift, Eco-Home and Loads of Gift Items #cbias #DRHappyandHealthy

Duane Reade stores have become like little worlds.

One of the perks of the apartment in which I live now is that there is a 24 hour Duane Reade less than a block away.  I can buy milk, choose a new shade of nail polish or buy any of the constantly growing line of Duane Reade branded products at any hour of the day or night. My one teeny tiny complaint is that my store does not have one of the nifty old-fashioned beer taps that have cropped up in some of the UWS locations.

Making a Unicorn Costume Using Basic Fashions from Cookie’s Kids (Discount Code!)

My kids love to dress up in costumes.  It doesn’t really matter whether it’s Halloween, Purim or just a plain old Tuesday…they are likely to be dripping with Mardi Gras beads, wearing a cape, a pair of butterfly wings or any number of silly hats.

Since we go through so many costumes, and we’re all pretty crafty around here, I really loved the idea of looking through the Cookie’s Kids website to choose some clothes out of which I could create another costume to add to our dress up arsenal.
